Landscape
Walls Landscape walls are typically
retaining walls that are under six feet in height. We thought it would make
sense to create a block specifically for that purpose. GeoStone Landscape
Walls are a
revolutionary addition to the Segmental Retaining Wall (S.R.W.)
industry. The Landscape Block has all of
the strengths of both the Landscape Wall and the massive Retaining Wall
but none of the weaknesses. It does not have the big industrial look
of the larger retaining wall modules. It has a much softer, more natural look which
is conducive to a residential setting. At 36 lbs it is much easier
to handle than most retaining wall modules on the market today. The
Landscape is also a fully structural retaining wall block. This is
where it differs from most garden or landscape wall modules. It has an open core
which allows for what we call the "Rock
Interlock" system. GeoStone has tested this system at
various labs throughout the country and found that the "Rock
Interlock" is as strong or in many cases stronger than other leading retaining wall
systems. In short, the GeoStone Landscape possesses
the same strength of major retaining wall systems, in addition to the ease
of installation and aesthetic value of the garden or landscape wall block.
The GeoStone Landscape Retaining Wall Module was designed for easy installation and maximum
flexibility. Simply follow the instructions in the Landscape
Wall Installation Guide and you can create a beautiful addition
to the landscape of your property. The GeoStone Landscape block is
a structural module and can be used to construct walls reaching major
heights. If you plan to meet / exceed four feet in height, have loading on
top of the wall, or are working with a slope in front or behind the wall, consult your dealer
for reinforcing instructions. A guide to installation of a fully
structural, reinforced, load-bearing GeoStone wall can be downloaded here.
Just a little four page document that sums up what we feel is some of
the more important things you will need to know about retaining walls.
The Hardscape Handbook shows actual designs of structural walls as well
as 3-D renderings of Stairs and radii. There is also a step by
step process of how to build both a residential non-load bearing wall as
well as a commercial load bearing wall. We encourage you to click
the link above to download and view before taking on your retaining wall
project.
